This is the one you're looking for ... Spanish lessons designed for teenagers from a top Spanish language school, in summer, in the sun, by the beach... with all sorts of water and city-based activities and excursions included. You even have the choice between residential accommodation or home-stay living with a Spanish family.
Cadiz is a relaxed Andalusian resort city famous for its beaches offering great windsurfing, kite-surfing and surfing - as well as its carnival. It's the perfect place to learn Spanish while having fun, and the cooling sea breezes make the summers more bearable here than elsewhere.
Everything is included in the price, classes, accommodation, study materials, excursions and activities. This programme is run at Spanish rhythm - something for parents of younger kids to note but hey .. there's a snack around 6pm if you can't wait until dinner at 9pm!
Spanish class are Monday to Friday mornings with 20 lessons a week offered. You'll do grammar, cover new structures, and increase your vocabulary as well as work on your communication skills. Yes, at some point you do have to do some work toward learning the language! Like all language schools there a test to establish your level on the first day, after which you'll be placed in the appropriate class. Courses are given by the qualified and experienced teachers of the famous International House school, so there are no worries about quality. Then at the end of your stay, you'll receive a certificate to show you've completed your course.
During the week, normally on a Wednesday afternoon, there's a half-day excursion to a local attraction. Saturday is a full-day excursion. You might go to Tarifa or Bolonia and check out the sights. Then on Sundays there are activities in the mornings before lunch, leaving the afternoon free for being at the beach. Visits and excursions are alway supervised and accompanied by school staff and lunches are provided (of course).
Being so close to the beach it makes sense that a number of activities are beach-based. But not all! Plus apart from standards like basketball or volleyball, how about exploring Spanish pop music with a bit of karaoke for a change of method to practise Spanish? Evening seaside ice-cream walks, parties, it's all happening when you're not in class.
