Steve Jobs said that every one should learn to code. And we believe that these days understanding the basics of coding is as important for a child's future as learning languages.
So if you're ready to improve your English and learn some programming / coding skills! And you love computers... YES?

And you want to join other students from all over the world making friends and having awesome time going on excursions and activities around the south-east of England? Then this is it.
This brilliant English language summer camp is designed to let you (or your kids) do exactly that. So if computers are your thing and want to know more, this is the course for you!

You don't need any knowledge or experience of coding. It's a beginners/entry-level course for people with little or no coding experience. All levels of English are also accepted, so you don't have to be good at that either!!

What's more, every student on the programme receives a Raspberry Pi (click the link to learn more) and will learn how to programme and code with it.
So, if you wanted to go to an English language summer camp, but hated the idea of English and sports, this could be the one you've been looking for. Plus, it's held at the beautiful Plumpton campus in the South-West of England, right next to the South Downs (a massive National Park) and only about 20 minutes from Brighton.
Run by one of the very best summer camp organisers in England, you'll find the facilities are excellent, the teaching second-to-none and the activities and excursions that happen outside of class time great fun. (You can even add horse-riding as an option at Plumpton, though this programme is already pretty complete!).

So...what are you waiting for? Get your English up to speed and crack coding!

English & coding courses

There are 22.5 hours per week of instruction in total. English courses (15 hours) form, of course, the basis of this programme. You can be any level (beginner - advanced, you'll be put in the right class) and work on your reading, writing, listening and speaking skills, while also covering the grammar appropriate to your level. The coding's also in English, but at a level everyone can understand.
Coding takes up 7.5 hours per week (5 x 1.5 hours). You'll learn masses of stuff using your own Raspberry Pi that you get to take home.

You can see a breakdown of the course under the Course tab.

Excursions/Outings

On the English and coding course your excursion and activity schedule is the same as for the English and activities programme also held at Plumpton. You'll be a tourist, get some culture and of course, do some shopping - the perfect mix! There are 2 full-day excursions a week, where you'll discover the cities close by, (like Canterbury or Brighton as well as London!) and you'll also get to spend the day at a theme park - just having fun. 2 half-day excursions are also included each week for visits closer to home. So you can see that the learning and the exploring are pretty well mixed.

Activities

Clearly the days are pretty well filled with courses and outings, but the schedule still leaves enough time for things to do like around the campus. In the afternoons there's usually a choice of sports or games available and in the evenings a mix of age-appropriate activities are included after dinner. This could be anything from a long list of games, camp fires, music workshops, parties...
If that's still not enough, or you really want to do something different in the afternoon, you can add (for an extra fee) horse-riding (2x1 hr/wk, private lessons) or extra English courses "Active English" (2x2 hr / wk).
Please note, that for a child choosing to take an extra activity, then that will take the place of the other group activity planned in the schedule.
