The language courses offered at Genki are designed for anyone looking to discover the Japanese language or perfect their conversational and grammatical skills. If you’re a complete beginner, without any knowledge of the Japanese language, you’ll need to enrol in a beginner’s course available on specific dates. For more advanced students, other Japanese language courses are scheduled more regularly and combine standard language lessons with the opportunity to discover Japanese culture. Given by mother-tongue, qualified Japanese language teachers, classes are small, consisting of 4 students per lesson on average and no more than 7 students per class, guaranteeing that you’ll progress quickly - as long as you study ;) !

1.

Japanese standard

20 hrs / week

From Y 32,500

Information

This course is open to students of all levels. Beginners start lessons on the first Monday of each month, although between June and August, you’ll also have the possibility to enrol in a beginner’s class on the third Monday of each month. The first part of this course will provide you with a grammatical understanding of the Japanese language and help you broaden your vocabulary. You’ll then leave the classroom and head onto Tokyo’s streets where your language teacher will help you put your newfound Japanese vocabulary into action! This will include a few exercises, such as:

  • Finding out about the availability of theatre tickets
  • Ordering sushi
  • Reserving a table at a restaurant
  • Asking for directions
  • Asking for advice while shopping

Of course each of these exercises is adapted to meet your specific level of Japanese, so for the more advanced students, the tasks get increasingly difficult and involve a much greater use of Japanese.
