Regensburg is without a doubt a unique if not an outright funky place to learn German in Germany. An hour north of Munich, the city is historic, beautiful, and its centre totally pedestrian (yes!). You can hang out by the river, walk the streets, stop for a beer or coffee in the many cafés, or lose yourself in towns the shops, galleries, and museums. As it’s home to 20,000 university students, you can dance all night too – if you wish.
On top of all that, if you're in need of a bit of cultural history, the medieval centre of the old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site

Right up there as one of our favourite places to learn German our partner school in Regensburg offers all levels of German classes as well as exams (TestDaf), refresher courses for teachers of German, truly small groups and… the bonus, an inexpensive school residence right beside the school.
