Chelsea Football & English
Boys 12-17 (Charterhouse School)
Boys 9-12 & Girls 12-17  (Canford School) - Fixed dates for gurlz!

It's a dream isn't it?

NO!!! You really can learn English at a great school while playing football at a Nike Football Camp at the same time. All this just outside of London at one of England's top boarding schools.
This is a programme for all players, regardless of football level or English ability. There's something for everyone. You don't have to be a star to sign up - but it helps if you really like football!

At this English and Soccer camp you're going to 29 hours of football training (including seminars and fitness sessions etc) over the two weeks of the camp. That's quite a lot of football
You do skills training, tactics, and seminars on nutrition, psychology, with all of it being run by the excellent, qualified Nike approved coaches from the Chelsea FC Foundation.
Add to that 25 hours of English language instruction in class (don't forget the English you'll get while training) given by equally qualified and experienced English teachers who are used to working with young learners and it all makes for an awesome summer camp experience. (No prizes for guessing the theme of the classes might often!)

Football training

All throughout this great programme you'll be trained by qualified coaches of the Chelsea FC Foundation who'll make sure that you won't just learn and improve your football, but that you'll have a fun time doing it. Part of that training will include an individual coach assessment plus a development plan to help you pinpoint areas for improvement. Most of the training will take place at the Chelsea FC Training Centre at Cobham.
And finally...the great thing about Nike ...You'll receive a Nike/Chelsea Foundation Kit pack including freebies to take home. (Contents not yet announced).

English lessons

All English courses are given by a team of qualified, dynamic teachers. Generally the English lessons take place in the afternoons (see the example timetable below) with the first part of the course focussing on General English. There's an evaluation of your level on the first day, so it doesn't matter if you're very good or very bad (!) there'll be a class at the right level for you.
The aim of these courses is to get each participant using the language, learning vocabulary and phrases covering different topics each day. Grammar of course, underpins every lesson. Classes are designed to be fun using the CLIL approach to language learning (used by the world's best language schools) and include games and activities to help learning. You'll also be doing project-based work, so if you are thinking about doing an exam (like IGCSE, IELTS, Cambridge First Certificate) this is where you'll work on it.
While we generally find that level follows age, students are also normally separated in class between younger and older students. The maximum number of students in a class is 16 and everyone received a certificate of competence at the end of the course noting how they did and their level.

Excursions are included on the weekends as well as during the week. You'll do things like a walking tour of London including the major sights like Oxford Street, Big Ben and Buckingham Palace and of course a visit to NikeTown! You'll also get a chance to go to famous Brighton Beach, and receive an exclusive tour of the Stamford Bridge stadium, home to Chelsea FC Stadium.

After football stuff

In the evenings, if you're not already exhausted by  the day's football etc there's a whole range of games and activities on offer to keep everyone happy. The players lounge has pool and table tennis tables, tvs etc etc - and there's always the pool when the time is right. (Note, the pool is not open all the time. Swimming must be supervised and is done by arrangement.) Whatever happens, there's plenty to do - and even occasionally - some free time to yourself!
